Why everything is 48 mm
One grid unit decides the size of every module. Here is how we chose it.

48 mm is the width of a comfortable fader lane and the diameter of a dial you can turn with a thumb. Everything else followed from those two numbers.
A module is one, two or three units on each side. Because every edge carries the same contacts, any module fits next to any other.
A grid you can feel
After a while you stop thinking about the grid. You just reach for where the control should be, and it is there.
